The hamlet of Pignano, at the heart of the estate, has been continuously inhabited since Etruscan times. The estate is committed to sustainable agriculture, husbandry and respectful living. Our land is organically farmed with permaculture methods. The restoration of the Villa was undertaken with natural renders and paints and every bedroom is equipped with a ‘bio-switch’- a system that interrupts the electric circuit when it is not in use preventing any electromagnetic fields during the hours of sleep. The heating and the hot water of our whole hamlet comes from a solar panel system complemented by a wood-chip burner running on the sustainable resources of our woods. All waste waters are filtered by a water recycling plant. We use biological and natural detergents. The pool is a salt water pool and only needs a very small amount of chemical products.

The Hotel is a noble, 18th century villa with 12th century ramparts and a turret bell-tower with panoramic views, terraces, lawns and gardens. We welcome individual guests for short and long stays and also exclusive use of the whole villa for groups, weddings or other special occasions. We offer 17 elegantly furnished rooms and suites with majestic views and princely limestone-and-marble baths on a full or half board basis. Our chefs produce superb Italian organic cuisine and we offer a wide selection of local wines. We tailor our hospitality, food and activities to the individual requirements of our guests (and, of course, to the seasons).

The hotel grounds and facilities include drawing rooms and dining rooms, a ballroom, library, music room, billiard room, gym, cinema room, children's playroom, massage/therapy room, a fabulous salt-water infinity pool. Horses and mountain bikes are available to explore the grounds and beyond!
